Genomics is moving out of the lab and into the operating models of leading healthcare providers. Gartner predicts that by 2020, 5% of all medication prescribing will be checked for appropriateness with genomic data. By 2021, 25% of HDOs with greater than $1 billion in net revenue will be providing real-time, genomics-based, clinical decision support at the time of prescription writing.

Meanwhile, the use of clinical algorithms is broadening and interest in sharing them is increasing. By 2020, some form of predictive or prescriptive algorithm
will be embedded in 75% of all healthcare delivery processes. The convergence of these trends is accelerating the shift to Precision Medicine by
healthcare delivery organizations whereby algorithms enable easier integration of genomics into healthcare decision support.
